Arguments for Great Britain Hosting the World Cup

  • Great Britain already has excellent stadiums, so very few new buildings would need to be built.
  • Millions of visitors would come from around the world, helping local businesses, shops, restaurants and hotels.
  • The World Cup would create new jobs and boost the economy.
  • Great Britain has excellent transport links, making it easy for fans to travel between cities.
  • Hosting the tournament would inspire children to become more active and take part in sport.
  • It would bring communities together and create a sense of national pride.
  • Great Britain has experience hosting major sporting events, such as the London 2012 Olympics.
  • The event would showcase Great Britain's culture, history and landmarks to a worldwide audience.
  • Schools could take part in exciting activities and projects, helping children learn about different countries and cultures.
  • Hosting the World Cup would leave a lasting legacy by encouraging future generations to enjoy football and healthy lifestyles.
