The Flying Lesson

A cool breeze swept across the Hogwarts field as the first-year students stood nervously beside their broomsticks. Harry glanced around at his classmates. Some looked excited, but others seemed worried about leaving the ground for the first time.

At the front of the line, Neville climbed awkwardly onto his broom. Before Madam Hooch could give another instruction, the broomstick suddenly shot into the air with a mind of its own.

"Neville, get off it!" she shouted.

Too late.

Neville clung desperately to the handle as the broom soared higher and higher above the class. His face had turned pale with fear and his hands gripped the wood tightly.

"Help!" he cried.

Then, without warning, he lost his balance.

The class gasped as Neville tumbled through the air before crashing heavily onto the ground. Madam Hooch rushed over while everyone stood in stunned silence.

As Neville was helped away, something small and shiny rolled across the grass.

Draco spotted it immediately.
