A Fresh Start
As Sam walked through the school gates on the first morning of Year 6, he felt a mixture of excitement and nerves. The playground was already buzzing with conversations as children greeted old friends and wondered what the new year would bring.
Sam spotted his best friend, Daniel, waving from across the playground. He smiled and hurried over.
“I wonder what we’ll learn this year,” Daniel said. “There are so many things we could achieve.”
When the bell rang, the children lined up outside their classroom. Their teacher welcomed them with a warm smile and reminded them that every new school year was an opportunity to learn, improve and try something different.
Sam looked around the classroom. The walls were covered with colourful displays, and on each desk was a small card with the words, “Believe in yourself.”
Suddenly, Sam’s nerves began to disappear. He realised that he didn’t need to be perfect. He simply needed to have a positive attitude, work hard and enjoy the journey. With a smile on his face, he opened his book and began his first lesson of the new school year.
