Stig of the Dump Chapter 4

This chapter is called

Gone A-Hunting

Based on  the title and the story we have read so far, what do you predict will happen in this chapter?

Fox hunting

In this chapter, we will read about Lou being invited to a fox hunt.

Fox hunting used to involve the tracking, chasing and killing of a fox by trained foxhounds and a group of followers led by a master of foxhounds, who followed the hounds on foot or horseback. Fox hunting with hounds had existed for 400 years and was developed as a means of entertainment for the aristocracy. (A class of people who have a high social position because of the family they are born into. Members of the aristocracy are usually richer and have more privileges than other members of society.) Fox hunting in this way is banned now in England.

What Will You Leave for Future Generations?

Key Question

What legacy will you leave behind?

A legacy is not just something you own. It can be your kindness, your courage, your ideas or the way you help others.

Every day, your choices shape the future.

Ask yourself:

  • Will I be remembered as kind?
  • Will I help others?
  • Will I stand up for what is right?

Reflection

What is one positive thing you can do today that will make a difference tomorrow?
