Does anyone in your family take helpful drugs? Why?

Can you name two drugs that are harmful to you?

LC: Use inverted commas to punctuate direct speech.

We have been exploring direct speech. Today, we will have a look at both direct speech and what a reporting clause is.

Watch the video below.

Reporting Clause

We are going to watch the following advert but we will mute it. You are going to think about the conversation the man might be having with the children.

You will now be paired together to think of what the man might say to the children who have thrown the chocolate into his garden.

Write down the speech that they use and the reporting clause.

LC: Prepare a poem to perform using intonation, tone and volume to show understanding.

Today we are going to start learning The Spider and the Fly using a poem map to help us remember.

Let's take a look at Verse 1 to begin with. Remember to stop at 0.27 seconds!
