How does the amount of daylight change during the year?

The Sun gives us daylight. During the year, the amount of daylight changes.

Stretch arms wide for a long day. Hold hands close together for a short day.

🌸 Spring- days are getting longer, more daylight.

☀️ Summer- longest days, we have lots of daylight.

🍂 Autumn- days begin to get shorter.

❄️ Winter- Shortest days, it gets dark much earlier.

You are going to make a day length wheel to show which season has long days and which has short days.

You need to draw a tree for each season and using a yellow colouring pencil, draw a line to show how long the days are in each season.

Can we make our yoghurt sundae following our design?

You will each take turns, in groups to go to the cooking pot to create our  yoghurt sundaes.
