Revision questions

Today we are going to practice some revision questions to see how much we remember and if there is anything we need extra help with, we will be looking at -

Counting in 10s and 1s

Number patterns

Grouping

We are going to complete pages 89-91

For the next few days, you are writing your story independently.

Today you will focus on the beginning of your story.

Characters Archive - Peter Rabbit

Remember to include:

  • 'er' and 'est' words
  • using but in a sentence
  • capital letters for names and at the start of a sentence
  • full stops
  • spaces between words

Can we use careful brush control to paint a rabbit with different textures and details?

Talk partners

  • What do you notice about the rabbit’s fur?
  • Which parts look soft or fluffy?
  • Which parts need tiny details?
  • How could we use our paintbrush carefully?

First we will sketch the Rabbit

Children lightly sketch a simple rabbit shape using pencil.

While you are painting think about how you can add textures and details

We can use a thinner brush for -

  • Add fur texture using short strokes
  • Paint darker areas for shadows
  • Add whiskers and facial features
  • Paint details inside the ears
  • Create fluffy tails with dabbing techniques

Lets now walk around and  critique everybody's painting, by thinking about these questions -

  • Which painting shows careful brush control?
  • Where can we see different textures?
  • Which details make the rabbits look realistic?

Self assessment

Complete the sentence:

  • “I used careful brush control when I…”
  • “The texture I am most proud of is…”
