Grammar
I can use full stops at the end of a simple sentence.
Using ideas and vocabulary from Harry the Happy Mouse, children orally construct a simple sentence.
I want to tell my friend what Harry did. Harry went outside. I have finished my sentence, so I put a full stop at the end.
Children say their sentence to a partner, remembering to stop at the end, before writing it with a full stop.
To orally compose every sentence before writing

Re-read the end of the story (page 26-31).
We are going to create some sentences to explain who helped who.
Let’s remind ourselves of the animals that helped each other.
Help your teacher write a list of the animals for the LW.

We are going to need some helpers for each word in our sentence! (Human sentences, write the words on paper)
Rehearse the sentences using the animals names and the words ‘the’ ‘helped’ ‘ ‘a’.
We are going to choose one of these sentences to write in our books.
We need to say it a few times to make sure it is in our brains!
Now we are going to write another sentence but this time we are going to include the word ‘and’. E.g The frog helped a mole and a cat.
