There are some real words in the poem that you may not have heard before and some nonsense words.
Have a look at the poem on your table. With your partner can you find any new words, think about if the are a real word or a nonsense word.
Yesterday, we learnt that this poem is full of imaginative ideas—animals sailing a boat, buying rings, playing guitar, etc.
Today you are going to draw a illustration for one part of the poem.

Think about what your puppet is — maybe it’s an animal, a person, or even a made-up character! Be creative, take your time, and most importantly, have fun. We can’t wait to see your amazing designs, Year 2!
Do you know what a secret or surprise is?
Are they the same or are they different?
Surprises and secrets may seem similar, but they can be very different. A surprise is something positive—like a birthday gift or a special trip—that will eventually be revealed and bring joy. A secret, on the other hand, is something meant to stay hidden and never told.
Can you think of a surprise that you know of?
What secrets might somebody want you to keep?
If ever a secret makes you feel worried or unsure, you should always tell an adult you trust, like your teacher or your mom/dad. They are there to help you!
Once upon a time, there was a little bunny named Bella. Bella wanted to surprise her friend, Lily, with a pretty flower she picked. Bella kept this secret until Lily’s birthday and was so happy when Lily saw the flower! That was a good secret because it made everyone happy."
"But one day, Bella’s friend asked her not to tell anyone that they broke a toy. Bella wasn’t sure what to do because it didn’t feel like a good secret. She talked to her mommy, and mommy said, 'It’s okay to tell me about secrets that make you feel worried. We can fix the toy together!
