Last Ball of the Over
The sun beat down on the cricket pitch as Sam tightened his grip on the bat. The fielders spread out, their eyes fixed on him, waiting. He could hear his teammates clapping from the boundary, but his mouth felt dry. The bowler charged in and released the ball with a sharp snap of the wrist. Sam swung. There was a loud crack as bat met ball, and for a split second, everything seemed to freeze before the crowd erupted.
