Liam enjoyed helping his grandmother in her garden. One morning, he noticed a patch of soil that looked freshly dug. When he knelt down to investigate, he uncovered a small wooden box with carvings of stars on the lid. Inside the box was a silver key tied to a ribbon. Liam wondered what the mysterious key might unlock.
R- What was inside the wooden box?
I- Why do you think the soil looked freshly dug?
C- How does the author create a sense of mystery in the text?
LC: To use an apostrophe for possession.
