LC: To identify, collect and explain the effect of pronouns in poetry.
Read the poem Save the Bears. Can you spot the pronouns?
Save the Bears!
Do you see that bear cub?
His coat so white and pure?
That’s not how it will be,
Unless we take action, right now.
The ice is melting, the temperature’s rising,
And the polar bears are in trouble.
We need to act, or they’ll all die.
We can’t let that happen,
it would be such a shame.
So let’s all do our part,
and do what we can,
To save these bears from extinction.
It won’t be easy, but it’s worth a try.
For the sake of those little cubs,
Let’s save the bears!

Do you stick with your friends when the going gets tough?
Sticking together is important. It is especially important when we face challenges and tricky times, where plans change and we need to do things differently.
In the Bible, we read that sticking together and helping others in tough times is important.
A passage in the Bible says, ‘Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.’ (Philippians 2.4)
‘What do you think this means?’
These words from the Bible remind us that we are a team, and that helping others who face tricky times is a good choice.
As we take a couple of moments of quiet reflection, let us think about someone who is facing a tricky time at the moment. How can we be kind and helpful to them today?
Prayer
Dear God,
Thank you for the chance to come together to enjoy each others company
We pray that we can be flexible and find ways to manage tricky times.
Please help us to find ways to connect with friends and family who can help us when things are difficult.
We also ask you to help us to be kind and helpful to others when they are facing tough times.
