The Amazon Rainforest
Deforestation is a serious problem in the Amazon that is threatening the future of the rainforest. This is when large areas of trees are cleared. Every minute, an area roughly the same size as five football pitches is cut down. Some animals’ habitats are lost and certain species are at risk of becoming endangered. Many people believe that governments should put measures in place to protect the rainforest.
Predict how governments putting in measures to protect the rainforest could help animals in the Amazon. Explain your answer using evidence from the text.

Holi is one of the most important festivals celebrated by Hindus. The festival remembers the legend of Prahlad and the demon, Holika. During the festival people smear each other in bright coloured powder - called gulal - which recalls the story of Krishna and his love for Radha. In 2025 Holi begins on 14 March.
