The Great Barrier Reef is the biggest coral reef in the whole world!
It is found in the sea near Australia.
A coral reef is made of tiny sea animals called coral.
They grow together to make beautiful shapes under the sea.
It looks like an underwater garden!
Lots of sea animals live there, like colourful fish, turtles, starfish, sharks and even dolphins.
We need to look after it so the animals and coral can stay safe and happy.

Is being part of a COMMUNITY the same for everyone?
A community is a group of people who live, work, or play together in the same area.
It could be:
Why Are Communities Important?
-
People in a community help each other
-
We can make friends and feel safe
-
We share places like parks, schools, and shops
How Can We Be Good in Our Community?

In our community, in Stoneyholme, not everyone has a garden or a place to grow things.
We are going to create a community garden so everybody has a chance to grow and use fresh ingredients in their cooking.
A community garden is a special garden that lots of people share.
-
People from the same community work together
-
They grow plants, flowers, fruits, and vegetables 🥕🌻🍓
-
Everyone helps to look after it
We are going to grow herbs that anyone can pick and use in their cooking at home. We are going to work as a community to look after the garden.

Is POWER always a positive thing?
Having power means being able to do something or make something happen.
For example:
-
When you have power, you can turn on the TV or open a door.
-
A teacher has power to help you learn because they can show you new things.
-
When you’re big and strong, you have power to lift heavy things!
So, having power means you can do things or help things happen.
Leo the Little Lion and Aussie Power
Once upon a time, in the sunny Australian outback, there was a little kangaroo named Kody. Kody was small but very strong — he had lots of power in his legs!
One day, Kody saw a tiny wombat stuck in a hole. Kody used his power to help the wombat climb out safely. The wombat was very happy and said, “Thank you, Kody! You used your power in a kind way.”
Later, Kody met a big dingo who was not very nice. The dingo used his power to scare the smaller animals and make them sad.
Kody thought, “Power is good when I help others, but it’s not good if I’m mean.”
From that day, Kody promised to always use his power to help and be kind — just like the beautiful Aussie animals do.
As part of our Stoneyholme community, what do you have the power to do?
