To be able to identify lines of symmetry in 2D shapes.

Let’s explore.

Let’s explore.

Activity Time

To use commas in a list.

Last week, we revised how commas are used in a list to separate items. Talk with your partner and decide which of these sentences use the comma correctly.

Join in the fun when you feed the ducks, chickens, and geese.

Join in the fun when you feed the ducks, chickens and geese.

Now let's identify how commas have been used in lists in this part of the advert.

Although they have only used two pictures of what you can do at the park, they have listed three things and used a comma in the caption underneath the pictures.

They have also listed three things to enjoy when visiting the attraction. Have they used the comma correctly? How do you know?

Now let's write a paragraph about the fun-filled day people would have at our attraction. Your teacher will model how to use a comma in a list within the paragraph first.

To use subordination for reason.

We use subordinating conjunctions to give extra detail to the main idea. Let's take a look at this in an example.

Why do we need to exercise?

We need to exercise because it helps us to be healthy.

Why are flamingos pink?

The plumage of flamingos is pink because they eat brine shrimp.

Work with your talking partner to answer these questions using the conjunction 'because'.

Why do we need to learn times tables?

Why are polar bears white?

Let's take a look at how the word because has been used in this quote from a previous visitor.

Today, we are going to write quotes like this from the viewpoint of people that have visited our attraction. Your teacher will model how to write these sentences first.
