Can we create an advertisement for our cafe?
We have now come to the final stage of our STEMterprise project. Today we are going to create a poster and an advert in the green screen room.
Talk partner
What is an advert?
Let’s learn.
Adverts encourage you to buy things. They use memorable words and short descriptions. They can be seen on TV, heard on the radio and printed on posters or within different texts.
Posters and leaflets use images and descriptions and include detailed information about products and services you can buy.
The question you need to answer in your advert is why should people buy your British seasonal yoghurt?
Remember your advert and poster is for your cafe, think about everything you have done so far in engineering (books) to help you:
- logo
- where your fruit comes from? (Cows and plants)
- British food flag yoghurt
- yoghurt design
- British food evaluation
To discuss key events and explore new vocabulary.
To write the next event in the story including new vocabulary.
Chapter 4
Today we are going to write the next part of our Thomas story. First let’s watch the next clip.
Watch to 5:00
Think about how Thomas moves…
raced
rushed
hurried
speeded
dashed
Think about the children’s feelings…
disappointed
sad
unhappy
miserable
Think about what happened to the books…
bang
bump
crash
jiggle
joggle
jolt
clatter
wallop
thump
shatter
bash
Your teacher will show you how to write the next part using and / !
Modelled write for teacher -
Thomas speeded along the tracks and decided to take a short cut. He didn’t want the children to be disappointed. Just then he hit a broken track. Bump, crash, jiggle, joggle and the books tumbled out. Oh bother!
Can we identify what we are good at, what we like and what we dislike?
Education must develop every child's personality, talents and abilities to the full.
We are all unique.
Education must give us the chance to explore, so we find out what we enjoy and practise until we become the very best we can be.
Remember- we must give things a try a few times before we decide if we do not like it.
Talk with your talking partner about what you think you are good at.
It might be physical like riding a bike or writing neatly. It might be that you are a good friend because you share.
Now think about things you like and dislike.
What makes you like this?
What makes you dislike this?
Today we will be looking at money to see how much we remember!
Now in front of you, you have lots of different coins, your teacher will say a coin and you need to hold up the right one for example -

£2
£1
20p
50p
40p?
