As theologians we have been learning about what Hindus believe about God.
Talk to your partner to find out what they know.
We have learned that Hindus believe in one God (Brahman) with many forms (deities). Hindus worship the God or Goddess that represents each form (love, strength or power for example).
How do others see me?
To Year 1, I am a teacher.
To Mrs Davison, I am an employee.
To Mum, I am a daughter.
To my brothers and sisters, I am their sister
To my nieces, I am 'aunty'
To my friends, I am the one that helps.
At school I have to wear my blue lanyard to show that I am a teacher.
What roles do you have?
What clothes do you wear that represent your identity?
In your book, write a list of the skills and qualities you have to make you the unique person you are.
Example:
son
brother
friend
Muslim
helper
artist
Now design an item of clothing you would wear to represent your identity.
To explore new vocabulary linked to characters.
To write the next event in the story including words with ed suffixes.
Today we are going to find out what happens to Thomas in the story.
Talk partner
What do you think is going to happen to him…
Let’s watch the final clip and find out.
Talk about how Thomas moves:
raced
rushed
hurried
dashed
puffed
Think about the children's reaction:
clapped
shouted hooray
smiled
looked delighted
grinned from ear to ear
Your teacher will show you how to write the final part of the story now, using and / ! and words that end in 'ed'.
Now it's your turn to write the final part of the story.
Teacher example -
Thomas rushed to bring the children to read the books. We’ll have a picnic story time! They were very excited to see all the different books. Thomas looked at all the children and smiled.
Can we experiment with shadows indoor and outdoor?
Talk partner
How are shadows created?
First we will observe shadows inside. Then we will go outside with our partner and draw our shadows using chalk on the ground. Use your torches to help you create shadows.
